First opened in Ashville in 1979, and later expanded to Circleville in 2004, the Ashville and Circleville Apothecary is the local independent neighborhood pharmacy for the residents of Pickaway County.
Owned and operated by the local independent pharmacist Robert D. Mabe, our full-service independent pharmacies has striven to provided quality care to patients for over 40 years. We take pride in setting ourselves apart from other traditional pharmacies by knowing our customers by name and providing the best possible healthcare with a hometown feel.
Aside from dispensing medication and consultation with our patients, we are the only PCCA licensed compounding pharmacy in Pickaway County and the South Central Ohio area. True to our name as an apothecary, we specialize in working with patients and doctors to provide specialty tailored medications that suit their needs.
Our full-time pharmacists are currently the longest practicing pharmacists in Pickaway County. They can provide countless expertise in the areas of medication review, consultation, immunization services, specialty compounding, wound care, athletic braces, and medication management services for long-term care or institutions.

Meet Our Pharmacists
Robert D. Mabe RPh.
OwnerRobert is a 1971 graduate of Ohio Northern University and owner of both the Ashville Apothecary and Circleville Apothecary. Bob is very active in both communities and enjoys working with his patients very closely to provide the services typical of a small community pharmacy. Bob is the chief compounding pharmacist and specializes in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, hospice care, pain management, veterinarian compounding, and specialty compounded products.
Stephen F. Mabe PharmD. RPh.
Pharmacy ManagerStephen is a 2010 graduate of Ohio Northern University and pharmacy manager of the Ashville Apothecary and Circleville Apothecary. Stephen is a graduate of Teays Valley High School and a lifelong citizen of Pickaway County. He is a full time pharmacist at both our Ashville and Circleville locations, manages our travelling vaccination clinic, and is an adjunct professor in training new pharmacists from around Ohio.
Tim Cadden RPh.
Staff PharmacistTim is a 1974 graduate of Ohio Northern University and staff pharmacist of the Circleville Apothecary. Tim has been a registered pharmacist for over 42 years and has been at the Circleville Apothecary for over 11 years. Previously owning and operating an independent pharmacy and surgical supply in the Columbus area, Tim serviced long term care nursing homes with their supplies and medications. Tim draws on this experience to help our customers with their wound care medical supplies and long-term needs.

Staff PharmacistBeth is a 1999 graduate of The Ohio State University and a staff pharmacist of the Ashville Apothecary and Circleville Apothecary. She has 19 years of retail experience, which helps when assisting customers with whatever they may need. She currently lives in Lancaster with her husband and 3 daughters.
